    Track day upgrades?

That's good news that you have adjustable rear ARB's....... cold wet weather soft, hot grippy dry track hard... obvious I know. First time out, I set them stiff thinking the OE ARB's were stiff. Spun the car twice on my first trial at KH. I set them slack and the car did not step out the...

    Track day upgrades?

To true!..... All adds to the exsperience (fun). You can dial out the shortfalls and act accordingly.... more power with poor hadeling can actually result in slower lap times. You have to be prepared to back off and drive to the needs of your car...... overheating, fluid boil can all be...

    Track day upgrades?

VSS Irvine carried out the work..... time frame wise, could be a fairly quick turn-around. Martyn prepped many of the part prior to my visit.... I just swapped out my old OE bushed subframe etc for already uprated stuff that had been blasted, powder coated and bushed.... things that just...

    Track day upgrades?

I was not suggesting you do the same..... I tracked my car for two years before stripping all the suspension. In fact it was due to an altercation with a tyre wall that caused me to go down the upgrade route. Uprated rad I feel is a must. The engine oil is water cooled via the rad so you may...

    Track day upgrades?

Yes.... it took me a while to find a reputable a local tuner that was comfortable with emanage. Russ felt the car could have been mapped to 350 - 360 bhp (at the wheels) but because I have OE box and engine internals and was ragging it on track, we decided to keep it sensible. I spent a chunk...

    Track day upgrades?

I'm using a Greddy E-Manage Ultimate with a 3 Bar map sensor and A/F input from wideband sensor. The plan was to keep the boost low due to having a standard gearbox and was mapped at 0.7bar and 1.1bar via a greddy boost controller... it made 258bhp at 1.1bar. GT2871R turbo with 3" Inlet AR63...

    Track day upgrades?

I have a Koyo 50mm alloy rad fitted and a 16 row setrab oil cooler and use Silkolene PRO R 15W-50. Run the oil pipes up and over via a relocated Oil filter and use a manual gauge to monitor oil temps. Have not suffered from fuel surge but have not tracked the car with < 1/4 tank of fuel...

    Track day upgrades?

Most of the upgrades have been covered on your thread although do not get carried away..... keep it simple or your missies will have you by the balls. Brakes: Heavy breaking at KH. My Wilwoods work fine. Lucky to get two full track days (160 - 180 miles) out of a set of pads so have a spare...

    Track day upgrades?

Providing I do not get dragged off overseas to work, I could have to car back on track for April / May. I have few more loose ends to sort out then I can put my attention to fixing the car for KH. I'll keep you posted. Cheers!

    Knockhill Hot Hatch Trackday Sunday 30th Jan 2011 10am - 4pm

The kind marshals at Knockhill discharged two powder and one foam fire extinguisher on my R yesterday. Second session out, on the fourth lap, I was alerted by a car flashing headlight behind and a marshal that I had a problem... I pulled up as close to a marshal station and had smoke coming from...

    wheel offset question

IMO, 15" rims with 50 profile are a great choice for trackday car. An et 0 will but more strain on suspension and wheel bearings however. You have pm regarding R888`s ;-)
