You cant base your decision on how good a rally car they make??? Look at the escort cosworth - very successful in all forms of motorsport where it competed, and still widely used today. Make shitty road car though!!!
that really is funny, ignoring initial purchase price, pound for pound spent on the cossie and you've got a one hell of a better car than a pulsar

The R makes a fantastic daily drive, comfy, economical, reliable and this is coming from somone who used to drive a Mercedes Clk. Not everyone has to drive it like they stole it all the time!!!
the r does make a good drive i never said it didn't, i just said it doesn't make for the greatest road car

If your 30 you've got a lot of growing up to do mate!!!

would agreeing with you be more of an adult thing to do :?:

Go around talking to people like that all the time do we???
yep  if we were all sat down round a big table i'd still say the same  , i'm honestly not trying to wind anyone up. So many people think the gtir is awesome, it isn't, its just quicker than what they had before

please be nice to me newbies otherwise i'll sell my r's and buy a scoob

any views on EVO's
Yes, they are worlds apart from the cars in this subject
thats cos you went from a pink pedal car to your bat mobile nobend   so havn't had anything inbetween to judge against it, unless of course you're going to compare you're old shed to a decent 'r'

now behave yourself evo boy other wise the gtir experts will take out all their inferior car owning frustrations on you instead of me

What bhp are you running :?: :D
more than 300bhp  everyday, allday and enjoyed every minute of it 8) but it still isn't enough so i've started again from scratch to do it properly

i'm honestly not trying to get at you mate, but its very easy to get more than 300bhp on the gtir without much bother 8)

i never did anything special to mine, and if i hadn't started again would've pushed the black car to 400bhp on the standard engine easily 8)

300 bhp is more than enough for me mate :D i have 3 little kids sitting in the back while driving my R about every day so its a family car :!: :D

I get to use my boost little or never   mainly on a meet :D

So im happy to have just over 300 bhp on a profec b and stay in the middle of the pack at a meet having fun playing with Rs turbo's and small powerd scooby's :!:  8)

Its all to do with the $ that you can spend on the R mate :!:

I dont want to have 400+bhp in my R, so 300+bhp is awsome to me and always will be   untill i feel the power of a big R

Like i said b4 my R at the mo is virtualy standard, Thats fine, its good chasing after a big powerd R or scooby :!: If you get a better launch than them (they bog down) you have a nice big smile on your face for 30 seconds

been looking on Scoobynet and other places and as many of you have stated (or argued) for the money im looking to spend im going to get a far better, powerful and enjoyable car with a Pulsar. As a previous owner of a decent 'R' i now only see one option. Now my search must begin for one. A few of you belive i can get a decent spec running 300bhp+ im going to keep looking, maybe off to Aberdeen in a couple of weeks to look at one (nice and local)

Thanks for everyones opinion. Didnt mean to cause so much agro, Sorry guys!

and yes, i am a pal of Deank93 (for now)

i didn't spend alot on the black car tbh and engine wise its never missed a beat 8) shame the rest of it is falling apart

funny old thing the pulsar, bloody good fun but f.u.c.k.ing hard work to try to make really good

there will be a few next year that are like nothing thats been seen yet, which can only be a good thing 8)

Ive had a few minor problems in the 8 months that ive owned mine but tbh i dont mind that its a R at the end of the day which is 15 years old :!:
all cars this age nead tlc bcause of ware and tare :!: As for moding ive only just started and have found most parts are cheep enough to buy from R owners that no longer nead them :D :D
Its the body work that is costly :!:
