Uprated fuel pump question

I've just fitted a Walbro 255lph fuel pump and my R now seems to hesitate and splutter, especially at low revs. Would fitting one of these increase the fuel getting pumped in, causing it to run rich, or would it not affect anything?
Just seems too much of a coincidence that the car starts running crap after fitting it

Did you use the supplied fuel pick up? I was talking to Mike/ex-gtir about the walbro yesterday and he told me the supplied pick-up doesn't sit low enough so when the tank is nearing empty it'll fuel surge. He reckoned using the oe one is the solution.

No, I used the original pick-up as the Walbro one supplied didnt look big enough.
Anyone else noticed anything when fitting these pumps?
Might have to swap back to the original to see if the problem persists :roll:

could be overfuelling.the only way to be certain is to get it on a dyno to check your A/F ratios then go from there.(assuming that u have a workshop with a dyno nearby)
