Rocker stopper kit

Hi, I recently had the exhaust rocker on No4 come off it looked as though the retaining shim had broken, fitted a new shim and way to go. I then fitted a rocker stopper kit, yesterday whilst giving the car a bit of a caning "bang!" when i took the cam cover off No.4 had come off again and this time broke the rocker luckily found all the bits fitted a new rocker and shim and it was ok. My question is which way round does the stopper kit go I'm sure itll only go on one way but just want to make sure, also has anyone suffered similar problems?

Ok just read that thanks. Not quite sure why they went on about needing retainers and springs tho when they need to be fitted anyway. Took the car out today and it was fine. I'm hoping that it may of broken due to being hit and weakened on the previous occasion.
