seriously! that is an extremely good idea, im gonna try that myself, but use something a little better than a milk bottle:lol:

you would need to make holes in it though so fuel flowed into it quick enough but would take a while to drain back out again.

darren....i had one of those pumps (sold it to pesh90) think thats the one your talking about with custom fabricated tube. it supposedly came from a skybarge that was running over 600bhp and it is one powerfull little pump if you adapt the end (maybe a little too powerfull for whats needed really) thats why i flogged it
Cheers Bob I will search him to find the pic.

Whatever is used for the "surge box" needs to be petrol proof dont want melted plastic and socks floating round the tank:doh:
However would be good if we could find a DIY way to do this.

I have thought of adding an extensension hose the diameter of the pumop is prob the same as a coolant pipes and if its angled you can get it in the right place in the tank.

Thinking along the milk bottle sock idea if you added an ally or durable plastic bung in the other end of the rubber pipe with holes drilled and filled the pipe with something to hold the fuel would probably work very well.

is that the pump that was removed from your car?
if so then its exactly the same as the one i sold to pesh!

was thinking of making something from a polymer based plastic tube around 4'' in diameter (which will be petrol resistant) then cut holes in it then fit flaps over holes on inside (slightly larger) so fuel flows in but cannot escape, that would do the trick nicely and would be a piece of piss to make.

if it works il do a how to write up on it as ive a trackday booked in febuary so will be the teller, but i cant see any reason why that wont work at all.

No this isnt my pump ts the one you sold its the same as mine but has the spout added.

Not gonna be doing any track days until march-ish so keep me posted on your test sounds like it would work I had a baffled sump on mk2 escort that had windows and flaps in the baffels that worked the same way.

Im gonna run the walbro for now and keep the bosch one on the bench to make some mods to before it hit the track
