No way! Nightmare, there was no reports of engine failures in the magazine, but by the pictures there was loads of brake issues, overheating, clutchs, and the ivory car had some major front end damage?? Probs a once in lifetime gathering that! I was at trax in 99/2000 maybe when there was a large number of cars, think they had the biggest stand attendance of all the car clubs but not 77

If I remember right, the ivory one had just had a big brake conversion done, but ruptured a brake line and speared off.

I was a regular max power reader when a kid and it was clear back then that Jap cars were the future. But I never spotted a Gtir and had no idea what they were.
I went to Santa Pod USC for the first time about 12 years ago. There was a pretty good showing of them running 12s, 13s, and everything else that was 'fast' that I recognised from the magazines was just not fast, 15s, 16s...
I remember thinking "those Sunny's with the daft grill are pretty special".
Went and looked at them in the pits, spoke to a couple of owners and shazam, the seed was planted.
Fiat Uno 45hp first car 18 years ago, Nissan sunny n13 84hp second car, proper job and some savings the next natural progression a 294hp pulsar, absolutely shit pants scary and first thing I did was remove the bleed valve. Even standard bhp it was/is too much...
First time pulsar in the rain I unleashed the fury coming out of a round about that I'd driven every day for years in the sunny, well I spun around took off over a curb, through bushes and stopped in a ditch, hey no problem, 4x4, just reversed out! (I drive like a granny in the rain even today)
Massive adrenaline rush and I knew then I'd made a good decision
Since had various iterations of 3 pulsars in the past 8/9 years, drive it every day, car for life...

My first experience was almost a year ago when I still owned my Silvia S15, I had never seen an R in person but a friend of mine had showed me the import page he used to snag his R32 GTR and I happened to find a grey GTIR on their. At the time I didn't have a clue what the hell it was other than the fact that it looked strange, fast and had an SR20DET in it which sold me on the spot. After getting rid of my S15 I had a Toyota Hilux Surf that broke down and I happened to be looking into a '85 Fairlady 200ZR when a R popped up on a local car buy/sale page so I dropped everything like a hot rock and bought my R a couple weeks later. Now here I am staring at it from the kitchen window waiting to fix the damn brake caliper haha. Still can't get enough of it, though, never loved any car more than this one.

When i was young and dumb i had a phase 2 almera GTI. i thought it was the fastest car in the WORLD!! until i got over taken by a Pulsar GTIR and my jaw just dropped to the carpet.I loved how it looked and just how stupidly quick it was. There's nothing else like it and probably never will be. I think Nissan threw everything at the Pulsar but the kitchen sink. Ever since then i wanted one.

Should of still had the gti could of dropped the pulsar lump in and once it gets traction they go very well

i hadn't considered engine swapping at the time. I have dropped a REV5 3S-GTE from a caldina in a corolla, it was a sleeper. Raised a few eyebrows in that car. it was fun.
