Right ive had enough of my brake judder really bad now, fitted with Black Diamond Combis.
I cant afford a upgrade kit, so i'm just after some discs,
I'm thinking of the Tar-Ox G88's OR Brembo grooved, OR Mintec C-tech,
I dont wont cross drilled, as they keep cracking on numerous cars.
Cheers

I changed my disc's on my old R for some pagid groved one's front
and rear and they where fab at least 100% better than the standard
pooh  , If you go for the Pagid make sure you get the pads too  as they work very well to gether 8) I wen't from no brakes
to very good brakes in an hour or two because thats how long they take to fit :D .

I now have AP's and there just on a completely dif level all together  .

Not on your options but I'd rather shell out just over £200 for some Hispec 285mm discs and caliper spacer than £150 for drilled and/or grooved which don't really give any noticeable improvement over standard.
Rob-chances are your increase in braking was more down to your old ones being sh**ged than the new ones being fantasticly brilliant.

No your wrong nobber as I fitted the same rear disc's to my new R and found a marked inprovement in my rear brakeing over the mintex disc's
and pads that I already had fitted   .

After loads of research, have just bought some front discs for a '98 Laguna 1.8 16v. 280mm dia., correct pcd, offset etc. Fit great but the std. calipers are proving a pain to relocate. Looking for some 2nd hand 4pot calipers to complete a cheap upgrade now. Will post results ASAP.

So you changed the pads too?Discs really won't make that much difference Rob.it's the pad. It's not like disc makers give you the option of slippy metal, average metal and super grippy metal, whereas the pad compund makes a massive difference.

I like the sound of the 280mm Laguna discs-am thinking of fitting bigger ones to my Clio on the front. How much were they?
What problems are you having with the spacer? You can make a mock up using plyboard to check for fit-just make a rectangular shape about 2"x5" with 4 caliper mounting holes in,spaced approx 11mm apart to compensate for the bigger disc(280mm-258mm=22mm/2=11mm).

Yes I did I replaced the mintex raceing pads and disc'e with pagid disc's
and pad's and guess what the pagid are a lot better than the mintex
So I can't really see what your getting at brain donner :?, Maybe if I was
replaceing standard stuff I could see your point but I wasn't, I replaced
one set of upratted brakes for another  .

Durrrrrr the pads are different compounds you mong. Not all pads are the same.
So true you single cell amoeba, That's right I'm saying Pagid disc's and
fast road pads are infact better than mintex fast road pads and disc's as
was the question as to what we thought of mintex stuff, So go and stick
your head back down the bowl you bottom feeder  .

Skiddus, got the Laguna discs from Partco. £42 inc. Vat for the pair :D
I spent Friday afternoon making up trial brackets out of MDF, but the calipers need slight modification to fit and I didnt have my angle-grinder to hand. Will try again tonight.
