The car was running fine, parked up, 10 mins later won't start, nothing on the key. Bump started it, and drive home no problems, but when i got home, there was a strong smell of buring rubber - could this be the starter motor bushes? The battery was fine, but charged it up anyway, and this morning still nothing on the key. Is the started motor finished?

Any ideas would be appriciated.

Sounds similar to me one post down dude. I feel for ya. Bloody anoying and emarassing happend to me in a petrol station today.

Does it just click?

I smacked mine with a hammer and after that it turns over almost, certainly starter in my opinion. Brushes worn out.

Check grounds.

I wouldn't be suprised if mine starts tomorrow when i goto take it to the garage. When it's cold i reckon it might just start. If it does im gunna recheck my grounds. If it doesnt well  :x
