I'm an area manager for GAMESTATION, you can still pre-order them with us....only a £5 deposit :D
ive had mine for 3months
We've had the Jap and US imports in stores as demo machines for a long while now....they are fantastic machines, i may be having a blond momment but if i recall correctly the games are set to be region locked so i'd rather get a UK machine.

The Jap machines play anything, the US machines are a bit hit and miss, at present the UK machines will play import games but will not play import UMD films, there is however the cabability for publishers to region lock the games which was the origional plan and may happen in the future if import software makes an impact on the UK market.....Xbox 360 is THE machine to have though. Gamestation have there annual conference next month and we will be getting to play on them and PS3 :D

The problem is, IBM make the 360 processor and ATI make the 360 graphics and a company called Invidia did the graphics for the origional Xbox and Intel did the processor for the origional Xbox it would mean that Microsoft would have to pay royalties to Intel and Invidia for any backwards compatable titles because they don't own the rights to the software.

At the moment Microsoft are saying that only a few select titles will be backwards compatable, although i think that will change and all titles will eventually play on the 360....DVDs will play on the 360 so your porn will be safe mate.

What sort of price are stores giving for part exchanging the original x-box for a 360 ?

Trade price-£60, Cash-£50 at present. This WILL change nearer the release date as Gamestation will do some kind of part ex trade in similar to the one we are doing on PSP.

Microsoft released the official 360 prices at 4pm today....£280 with the hard drive and £205 without.
