hi i have fitted my q45 and made up a new intake pipe with 3 inch aluminium pipework, i set the safc to 1 in and 5 out but i have lumpy idle when it moves its fine and sounds great (all you can hear is the suck of the turbo) i am getting the emanage ultimate so will do away with the safc2 will they be able to map the airflow so it takes the maf's lumpy idle effect away from it or am i stuck with it forever:der:

I have one of these fitted and I dont have any problems at all really. sometimes the idle drops and recovers but overall its spot on.

i thought it might be due to the 3 inch inlet pipe to 2 inch inlet reducer for the turbo i.e the air moves past the maf but its too slow to get a stable idle off idle its fine

 found out had blown one of those black nipple things off the inlet manifold all sorted now and idles well

There are other ecu options out there that are cheaper that may do what you want better unless you specifically want launch control.

i just spoke to jed at horsham developments today, after he came highly recommended by many people;-) (ive been doing my homework this time)

he told me not to bother with the emanage as he can map the standard ecu to whatever you need (including high bhp engines)
if you need any further info then pm me as im running my car down there as soon as ive rebuilt it, hopefully later this month!

after speaking to him on the phone he really does seem to know his stuff, and as i say comes highly recommended by many people who are racing, and he specialises in 200sx and sr20det engines, he is running in time attack at the moment after winning the club class last year.

your way behind the times boby, thats how my car is remapped. Standard ECU on the rollers :)

I did think of Horsham, buts its all tuned on the road, and Im not keen on going flat out in 3rd and losing my licence for it !

aha! wrong paul:lol:
think i was the first to put up a post regarding a guy local to me who had the software to map standard ecu, a while back now!
but as youve just said its gotta be done on the road.

im trying to get them to do mine on a track lol, hope hes got a good stomach:lol:
once ive built and fitted the engine im gonna rip out the emanage and run car down to them on my low loader and he said he will then load in a safe map for the spec im running.
once car has been run in il take him on the track hopefully where it can be mapped for max power.
also gonna try and sort out some sort of deal with regard to sponsorship, hes not even gonna charge me for second lot of mapping! so if he does a good job (and im confident he will)
then i may advertise him on my website which im currently forming, and car too.
he certainly seems like a very fair and knowledgable chap!
