Oil Cooler

Ive just bought a thermostatic oil cooler kit (top mount),my question is when you come to change the engine oil are you left with the cooler loop still full of old oil ,if so do you simply drain the loop seperatly to make sure all the oil is new?
Then after the oil change do you have to run it above 85 deg C to make sure you have the correct oil level in the engine and loop
Cheers sure someone has a method for this

I think what was said is that it doesn't hold that much oil anyway so just
leave it to mix with the new stuff, Or you could just unbolt it and tip it out
and like you said wait till it goes over the opening temp and refill :wink: .
