moving the air filter

not sure if any one has done this, but im thinking of moving the air filter to behind the front bumper in the wheel arch space as there should be plenty of cool air there, going to be drilling the chassie leg and inserting a stainless steel sleave through the leg and fit filter on one side and air flow meter on the other side of the chassie.

has any one attempted this in the past,

drillin big holes in any part of the main structure of a car seems alittle doddgy to me mate.;-)

it will have a thick stainless color put through the hole then welded up so the structure will be ok.

Why not just fit a cold air feed pipe from the bumper vent to the airfilter - a lot simpler and been done many times before..

because where the air filter is at the mo theres to much heat and no where ner enough cool air,
also the engine isnt in a pulsar, its in a almera

how about just moving your battery to the boot then running it behind the passenger head light?

no room in the boot, subs etc, plus with the bonnet not being vented still think it might draw to much hot air in
