Hi does the large black pipe above the filter have anything to do with the brakes, and are they none to leak near the clamp which is connect to the throttle bodies, i have a leak which is smoking me out due to the liquid dropping on my down pipe, plus when i press the break pedal i get a large single tap noise. could it be due to this pipe

Agreed. I think that hose goes to the power steering fluid reservoir ?!

I take it thats the black fluid container which is just above where the belts are had a look in and its quarter full. how full is it supposed to be, i see it has a filter like plug in it but the fluid is not that high to be going through it..

thats the one, theres a dipstick on the lid mate, like for your engine oil the level should be between the lines
