As above really, is anyone running 256's, or are they a waste of time?
Most people seem to have 264's?
Also, how easy/hard is it (ie how much will it cost me) to change valve springs on an 'R?, as taka's site says you have to change them if you use 264's? :D

i dont think 256* cams are worth it because the standard duration is 248*....get the HKS 264 if you dont want to change the valve springs. If you want to change the valve springs go for Tomei 260* cams as they have almost 2mm more lift.

Cams will move the powerband further up into the RPM range and give more power. The change how the intake and exhaust valves open and close to produce the power.

Depends on cam profile but especially with the JUN cams, starting from 264 (10,8mm lift), to 272 (11,0mm lift) upto 280 (11,5mm lift) degree duration cams HP and torque gains are very evident. This will be more useful on allready tuned engines. HP gains upto 30-40HP can be achieved in top rpm range. But all very much depends on turbo spec, boost pressure and other tuning factors.
The Tomei cams are more "friendly" and less "racy" than the JUN cams; Tomei cams deliver more over-all HP and torque gains, whereas JUN cams are more agressive in profile and love to be wind up in the rpm range. With 264 degree and up JUN cams heavier double valve-springs will be needed. Also when changing cams plaese note if the surface of the rocker arms are still in good shape; these need to be scratch free, otherwise these beautiful cams will be killed in short while.

Sir nix, on the taka kaira site, it says you need new springs with 264's as well, except if you have the ones for P13's.
Also, it doesnt list cams for N14's, only s14+15, is this ok?
