ive always accepted my headlights were really crap, till i just noticed that they arnt even on at all its just my sidelights all the time:doh:, both bulbs and fuse are good, but it seems like someone has at one point had a play with the electrics and added some sort of bosch wiring loom(dunno if thats a standard thing or not) anyone had this problemo before?

check to see if any broken wire is behind the light connector, mine was really burnt and it broke off. if anything trace it back from the light to where they added the bosch loom and check there.

You could just remove the 'Bosch' loom, it's pointless having it anyway, if it is for the headlights. The OE loom will easily handle 100w bulbs and if you clean up all your earthing points under the bonnet, the OE headlights and bulbs will be more than up to the job !
Adding an earth bonding kit will improve things further !

bosch make lots of car electronic bits.. it must be standard surely?

My car had a burnt connector, same as what bobby said... check that (no doubt you already have though)
