Gearbox problems!

Put the car in to have a front wheelbearing changed before it was sold the other day- well, at least i thought it was the wheelbearing. It was kind of a crunchy sound every revolution of the wheel.

The wheelbearing did have play, and was changed. Unfortunately the problem was not solved and the garage have informed me its the gearbox making the noise- The car shifts fine, clutch is good etc. So I'm guessing its the bearing where the driveshaft exits the transfer box (assuming there is a bearing there) probably knocked out by my bad wheelbearing allowing movement of the driveshaft, or at least thats what i think.

Is the bearing changeable, or am i looking at new transfer box? Or is it likely to be something else?

Any input is appreciated- thanks all.
