Front Crank Pulley knackered

Just been informed that the squeling noise from the belt area was in fact caused by the front crank pulley being knackered and causing the belt to run wild.

Is this a common problem? How much damage is it gonna cause to my wallet??? :?:

New crank pullies' from Nissan are £200 + Vat, better seeing if you can find a good used one or buying the Forge Alloy set.
