got my castrol edge sport 10/w60 today as recomended by the oilman, and blow me iv just been on gtir modifiers site and they say not to use 10/w60?. whats going on then?. anyone any wiser.:der:

10/w50 silkolene is whats recommended but i would have thought that oil is fine mate.

Even thou he was the guy who didn't recommend 10W60 as it was needlessly thick when hot. I think he said it was better for older engines, not modern stuff (I assume ours is modern)

You'll be fine with it as people have been using Millers 10W60 for ages with no problems.

If you speak to Silkolene they would suggest a 5w-40 but this is based on a stock car used for normal use, we havent come accross many stock GTIRs that have normal use and have found the 10w-50 to be that much better when pushed and is also fine for year round use.
