Engine knock sensor question:

Hi everyone, I know this is a common question to all R owners. I recently got a fault code 34 "knock sensor". I managed to source out a brand new one and fitted and the fault cleared up. My question is if I have replaced the knock sensor will i have to redo ignition timing again? Since it puts the car into safe mode will the effect timing still same of return to normal?

At the moment the car feels like it holding back some power with no boost leaks.

Locking the base timing if done correctly will ignore a knock sensor fault, when setting the timing.
