Clutch pedal problem

After leaving my car standing for a week and i press the clutch peadal theres nothing there,but keep pressing and after a while its fine...what could be the problem?

I'd be changing the clutch fluid. - I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking that it's got bubbles in it and by pumping it a few times you're getting them out.

Whilst you're doing it you might notice why it's got air (or moisture) in it; like a failed seal or a pin-hole leak in the hose.

Check the level first, if it's down then you probably have a leak, if the level is ok and it keeps doing it, you may have a faulty master cylinder.
