ive just had a boost controler fitted to my car and i had it set to 1.2 bar.the boost will go up to 1.2 bar on the gauge and then drop down to 0.5 and stays there till i change gear.the man in the garage who fitted the boost controler says ive got a weak acctuator on the car.could anyone help me with this could it be the acctuator or something else i have checked for boost leaks cant find none any help would be appreciated thanks

will either be the actuator or another very common fault is the exhaust housing cracking around the wastegate penny!
you need to remove the turbo elbow to check this out which you may as well do as you have to release the turbo from the head to fit actuator rod on anyway.

if it peaks then tails off i'd say its most likely to be the actuator as it'll have worn so the 'spring' mechanism wont be strong enough to hold the wastegate open anymore
