You need a big earth to run from the chassis/-battery to the block,the thermo housing has 2 nice large m8 or m6 bolts on the side that attach it to the block use them.

ive cut up my 20cm2 battery in the boot cable Dan, and earthed up alot of the parts like the alternator, not to large i hope.

Will get the tourch on and give it go a little later

No, most important earth is the one from the chassis to the thermostat. Then the ECU takes all its earth's from the two in the intake plenum. Provided those are all ok it should charge.

Ed does it have to go on one of the three thermostat bolts or can it go on the one just to the right of the top bolt on the themostat thats free

It goes to the one that is free of anytihng else (not the bleed screw and not the 3 thermostat cover bolts)

Right checked the amp draw on the battery worked out at 32.4, and was comming from the ignition circuit

checked the fusues in dash and no change on 32.4

pulled a immobilizer fuse and it went down to 19 amps

Then pulled the amp fuse from the lighter socket which is also connected to the immobilizer and it went up to 72 amps, what the fuc@ is that about

very confused now lol
