Best Place for a earth for an amp?

Wheres the best place for me to put the earth for my amp, should i drill a hole in the boot or find another point on the vehicle? im sure there was a post answering this a couple of months ago, but alas those topics are no more

Mine are earthed just by the rear light cluster. There's a couple of nuts there... just cleaned off a bit of paint.

i found a good earth just by the rear seats, if you lift up the boot carpet its fairly easy to find and seems to do the job, all i need to do now is work out why im not getting a signal from the head unit to the amp!
