Benifits of front diff?

What are the benifits of a NISMO or CUSCO front diff in the transferbox compared to standard for road use?

Maybe, but it's more use to you on the track or a rally stage.

Modena front diff improves front distribution of power & grip very well, noticeable on spirited road driving ... surprised not much interest in uk for the recent limited production run of Modena units ...

how does a Modena compare to a Nismo unit?

When i have looked at them they have always fetched a good amount of money and the fact i only do 1000 miles a year in the car i cant warrent spending the money on one.
I would like to drive a car with one in to see what difference they made in a road car.

I have driven a gti-r with full mechanical diff's in it, the difference is huge. You can point the car where you want it to go, put the foot on the gas and you go there. Once you have driven gti-rs with mechanical diffs in them driving an RA with open front 1.5 viscous lsd rear and viscous centre feels very loose and rubbish.

I have found more luck in finding the fron Nismo diff's in NZ than the rear ones. The only one i have seen for sale over here i bought. Now its in my car.
