Does the length of the pipe between the airfilter and turbo make any difference to performance?
Is a shorter pipe run preferable :?:

i've heard of,or read this somewhere tooskiddusmarkus said:I'd disagree there but not sure why it does. You can tune the length to change torque characteristics.
I thought that was more of an issue on naturally aspirated cars rather than turbo'd cars :?:oap-r said:i've heard of,or read this somewhere tooskiddusmarkus said:I'd disagree there but not sure why it does. You can tune the length to change torque characteristics.![]()

is it not something to do with air velocity being reduced the longer the inlet is :?:skiddusmarkus said:I don't know why it's supposed to make a difference. In the grand scheme of things having an inlet 12-24" shorter on a turbo car is neither here nor there. The amount of time it would take the air passing through it to cover the extra length is going to be measured in fractions of a second.
I'd say the design of the pipe is more important, with having a straight a pipe as possible with smooth bends desirable.
are you thinking about the length of the trumpets on n/a throttle bodies ??? these can make a difference by altering lengthsskiddusmarkus said:I'd disagree there but not sure why it does. You can tune the length to change torque characteristics.
