I'm pretty sure the tacho signal to the ECU is a blue/black wire. I couldn't get my IQ3 to read the signal though, and had to use an external module connected to the ignition coil. Hopefully it will work for you though.

Good luck,
Dave

Thats the wire i tried, looks like it will be a wire around the HT Leads then!
Also any one know what the spade connector is for of the top of the distributor!

I used an MSD Tach Driver (part number 8913, as seen at http://www.msdignition.com/Products/Accessories/Tach_Adapters/8913_-_Tach_Driver,_DIS_Ignitions.aspx) to generate an appropriate tach signal. It says this MSD part is for DIS ignition systems, but it works fine with our GTiRs. An alternative is the HT wrap-around (as you mentioned), such as the MSD GMR (http://www.msdignition.com/Products/Accessories/Tach_Adapters/8918_-_Tach_Signal_GMR_Pickup.aspx), but I've been advised that these kits can induce quite a bit of noise into the tach signal. As such, I opted for the coil driver and haven't had any problems.

Good luck,
Dave
