standard piston size

hi guys im prety new to rebuilding a r. what size are the standard pistons??? would 86.5 mill pistons fit in a standard block

You can get the block bored out to 86.5mm to accomodate your pistons.

The max the block can be bored out is about 87.5mm, after this you would need liners to strengthen it.

The only thing to consider, is if you cracked a piston it may have scored teh block. This could be more than 0.5mm deep and so when boring the block it may transpire that it has to go to 87mm or so. in which case you will need new pistons or a new block.

hi mate sorry to hear about your engine...im in the same boat so join the club. im rebuilding my engine and im putting 87mm hks pistons so im oversizing due to scarring to the bore if you need any info feel free to ask me .
