Rear calipers

Is there any adjustment for the handbrake cables on the rear calipers?

Just asking out of interest really cos when i had my car mot'd recently the guy testing it said there was low effort on 1 side.

Or could it be the cable on its way out on that side?

Most likely the cable.
I think they they're about £90 a pair.

Cheers, i can get hold of the cables for about £20 each side

I've looked at the calipers and can't see any way of adjusting them :?

No, I'm sure they're not adjustable.
Are those GTI-R cables for £20 a side? That's cheap.
I did think £90 a set was expensive, but when you see them, compared to regular cars cables you can see why they're more...

Yep definatly GTI-R cables Think it was about £21, comes in handy having mates in the motor trade 8)

The caliper might need a clean up, mainly where the pads sits and travels. There is an adjusting nut inside the car under the front of the hand brake, but that will adjust them both. It might do the job, or you may need new cables.

Sorted now

The outer part of the cable was starting to collapse where its bolted on near the rear diff which was jamming the cable up.

Just needs a new cable.
