OEM head gasket

How much Bhp can/will a OEM head gasket cope with? Somewhere was a figure of 320 Bhp or so, is that right or bollocks??

As Sam says.

Highest recorded output was big Rob at 399hp

However, there is nothing to say your HG couldn't go at 200hp through bad maintenance or tuning.

Right so, 399 is the benchmark to beat then! I just put a new one in with gasket glue, will see what happens.

I think Rob's piston failed in the end ;-) Good luck with it and at worst it doesn't take long to change a HG.

Was he running stock pistons?

cant go wrong with a hks or tomei gasket.

if your using standard pistons then use a standard head gasket, as mentioned before its normally the pistons that go first.

if your investing in forged parts then its worth paying the extra for an uprated HG, personally i wouldnt touch a cometic HG.

Yeah i know now that the cometic seems to be crappy one, have one hanging on the wall now! just wanted to try oem gasket and see if it lasts at all
