why? I used to race a mini and it would easily beat redtop engined ones. Trust me a full race mini is a real handful

Also them Z cars minis are MENTAL, we had some work done on the gtir at Z Cars and had it on the dyno there, saw some of the minis in the workshop and seen some videos. They are really good at what they do and certainly know there stuff! One day I WILL have one of there minis

They also did this beast lol.. Some guy rang them up from spain i think it was and told them to build him the fastest car in the world and money was no problem! We aw this car in the workshop being built, what a work of art! They made pretty much everything on the car themselves, it has about 15 radiators and such.. The guy we were talking too about it claimed it would go from 60mph to 180mph in arond 3 seconds LOL.... it really is awesome!

can i recommend that you consider a B20 conversion- CRV non vtec bottom end (B20Z) with the B16 head? You will knock out a good 200+ bhp, have silly high revs AAND 160+ ft lb of torque.

A chap on the CRX owners club has recently recorded the fastest 1/4 for a FWN, nasp honda with a B20 at 12.7 seconds. In a CRX that weights 200kg more than a standard mini. If you do a hydro box conversion you also have the option of LSD's and all sorts of gear ratios from numerous gearbox variants. CRV drive train can offer you a 4wd option as well and has been done in CRX's, DC-2's del sols etc etc.

What about a GTM coupe with a b20 in the boot?

I had a GTM coupe years ago and although this is an option I like the mini idea especially the AWD possibilities using the CRV drive train. I did mess with the idea of an elise with the Vtec in the boot as well but still came back to the mini as I think it's special (and theirs the possibility of getting a pre 72 one and not having to pay road tax :-D

2 litre k20a engine 200bhp right our of the box 6 speed gearbox with lsd, add a jackson charger and cams and you knocking on 300bhp with over 200 lb/ft from 3k right through to 8.8k through the rev range.

busa lump all the way steve;-) rear mount it running rear wheels!
fairly simple conversion and wont break the bank either

just buy a busa bike strip the parts you need and flog the other bits on which will cover the cost of engine etc
