low compression in 1 cylinder

just bought a fairly clean gti-R and i got the wee beasty home. did a compression test and its 155 on all but 1 cylinder which is 90psi

any ideas what it could be./?

ringlands most likely, does it smoke ?

yeh it does a bit between gear changes and hard acceleration!

Kieron is correct, ring lands, i bought one last august thinking it was the turbo but it was the lands.

its just coming back on the road anytime after a full rebuild with forged pistons and rooks of dosh.

looks like you will be in the forged piston group buy dude!

not a very nice person who sold you that....
