What's really really interesting is the new turbo's being used in F1.....regenerative motors built in to store energy then release to spool turbo up mega quickly ala anti-lag.....can't wait till we can get our hands on them....

With engines spinning at 17-18,000 rpm (or more) and these things banging away on them I expect they will only last 1, 2 or 3 races max before they self destruct.

The concept would be interesting if they can build in longevity to the unit.

The new F1 turbo engines were pegged at 12000rpm, but I've just read it's been raised to 15000rpm.
