Help please ... boost reading from Splitfire gauge

The previous owner of my GTI-R had a Splitfire gauge added along with a bleed valve but I'm not convinced it's reading very well. It shows a boost peaking at 13psi, I can adjust this with the bleed valve but it he advised that this was a suitable upper limit so I've not gone any higher. However the standard gauge reads just under +6. I would have expected this to be off the scale given that the boost is meant to be higher than factory spec. The other difference is that the Splitfire moves very rapidly as you lift off, but the standard gauge is much more lethargic, taking a few seconds to go from -6 to +6. Is this normal?

The standard gauge is not the most accurate. Mine read about 7ish(13.5psi)when my racetech one was reading 0.8bar(11.6psi).

6 on the factory scale is about 12psi so it isn't far off. Remember the factory gauge reads in mmHg not bar or psi.
