Gutting a CAT

Anyone else tried thid on their R?.

On one of my previous R's I removed the cat and knocked the guts of it out. Took some doing but essentially you can get the whole core of the cat out and you are left with a restriction free pipe for free. It seemed to be quite an effective mod.

I was thinking about doing this to my latest R. Just wondered why more people don't do it instead of buying £90 cat pipes. The only thing I can see possibly against it is the fact that the cat (when gutted) will be larger bore than the rest of the system, but I cannot see it having a detrimental effect.

Any views against?

Still waiting on some shims!
Because a proper de-cat flows slightly better... Some people still need a CAT... A de-Cat only costs £50...
