gear selection

Hi guys my car has been stood in the garage for about 5 weeks it has been started and move a little why my mate detailed it,I went to move it today and the gears were an absolute arse the clutch felt really spongy reverse was grindind and all the gears wouldn't select properly they felt really rubbery like you had to push them really far before they would ingage if at all anybody else suffered this?

Will come ok i think?
Just with the car stood there for 5 weeks and the oil will very cold and thick.
Try to give the car a run and if its still the same? change the oil.
My van does the same when its stood for weeks but comes ok.

could be the cluch needing bled, or the seals on there way out

Let the car run until it's warm mate then try selecting gears again. It could just be the oil.

I think you might be right i tried it again today when it was warm and it was better going to take it for a run when the weather picks up and see how it goes thanks guys

Same as here, every morning now during winter when I'm off to work, I'm positive that I'll have to change the syncros. After a little drive, everything just falls into place.
