Any1 had a blast with a focus rs before?

Was heading out from a village and was sitting behind one, once he hit the b road at the national speedlimit signs he decided to give it a go.
He was about 3-4 car lengths ahead of me, put it in2 2nd and let rip! Came straight up behind him in no time but sadly ran outta road to pass him!! :evil:
Just sat a wee bit behind him all the way along the road while he was giving it his all, kept having to lift off the gas incase I went in2 the back of him! :lol:
He didnt look to pleased at all to see a 14 year old pulsar sitting just off his back bumper! After about a mile down the road I had to turn and start heading back, coz I rememberd I wasnt even going that way and had missed my turning!!! :oops: :oops: :oops:

The best bit about it is that I found out the guy lives round the corner from me!! :lol: :lol: :lol: Cant wait till round 2!!!! :twisted:

the rs is quite quick but u have to be an awesome driver to get the best out of them, i embarrassed one big time in my dc2 integra type r on the twisties! couldnt see him for dust!

Most of them are still standard so not gonna get much fun. Some companies like Engine Advantages do a straight upgrade to 360bhp with a new turbo and remap package, so dont underestimate them...

Yes,their sh!t!Ford need to grow some bollox and bring back something along the lines of the cosworth.Next question..... 8)

love it when you have to keep backing off the gas incase you hit the back of him :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: did you get the flame throwoer out the back??

Didny even have to try! Changed gear at 5.5k each time! :D

Just luved the way his eyes screwed up in his rearview mirror when he seen me flying up behind him and stickin to his back bumper! :twisted: I recon he thought he was going to rip me as its about a 1/4 mile straight before you hit the 60 signs and he waited till he was bang on the sign before he started nailing it! :roll:

New Focus ST also has a 2.5 5 pot Turbo lump which potentially will tune rather well...

Yup raced one of these from the lights when i first bought the R... Easy is the only word i could use to describe this race :lol:

Hi All !!

Mr Stoned is right, the new Focus will be a bit special, standard it is 225hp and it easily makes 360 hp on the dyno. In the car it is a bit harder to realise due to the excessively restrictive exhaust and intake....

The engine is the same as developed by Volvo for the T5's and they tune up quite nicely :D

Incidentally the orange ones look awesome in the flesh (as it were....) ! :lol: :lol: :lol:

There are a few 4wd versions kicking about too with a mix of powertrains including diesels......

i dont have to see it :wink: i can pass comment because im a smug b a s t a r d :mrgreen: and i totally wiped the floor with a 350bhp (supposedly) wrc tuned focus at the pod in the summer. anyone thats been in my R will you that i could kick its ar5e.... even with 360bhp :wink: from a rolling start it might be a bit closer but i already have more torque than your theoretical st has bhp so i reckon it' d be.... Dooie 1 - ST 0 :twisted:

added to that i' ll be ramming another .5bar down my cars neck so unless someone does something pretty special with it (£££££) i feel it' ll just be one long game of 'kick focus butt' :lol:

Face facts Riggsbie,new generation performance fords are still well and truly in the shadows of the old cosworths :roll: sad but true as i like the old generation fords,even the old xr2,s.Isnt Martin Hadland building a new monster car?and what shell has he chosen for this?Im pretty sure its an escort cosworth shell.
I was speaking to a guy the other day (a copper) and his dream car was a mondeo st220 because he was only after pure performance from a car :shock:
