engine miss when cold

Hi, Im haveing a bit of trouble with my R when starting from cold. The engine idleing is crap until it heats up.Ive tried new plug leads but it still runs rough.I can hear the spark jumping somewhere around the dist.cap. So I think Il replace cap+rotor and maybe coil.

i had the same problem with mine and it took ages to find out the problem[]
in the end it was the ignition module and all is running fine now[]except for my leaking turbo gasket[]
try the least expensive things first like ht leads,rotor,cap,plugs if this doesnt cure it try the coil and ignition module.
see if you can borrow these so you arent wasting your money on them if it isnt the problem.

Abit of damp in the system or cold fouling on the (wrong heat range) plugs could also cause it. Have you checked it in the dark to see if you can spot a stray spark? You can normally only hear them (cracking) when they're outside the system jumping to earth.
