Earthing the det sensor

I know this has been covered before but i feel not in enough depth. Having took my engine out i would rather do it now as it has been kicking in before for no apparent reason and around the top (under cyl head) there is 2 big cracks in it. now as im a cheapskate :lol: im not gonna bother with a new one and i would prefer to do away with it.

now i know a capacitor is needed but what type? and where are you supposed to put it? near the sensor itself or on the ECU pin???

cheers edd 8) does anybody know the voltage range of the knock sensor. just found a bosch knock sensor on a volvo t5 engine which looks exavtly the same, just wandering if this would work :?

i remember seeing a detailed thread about this on the 300zx forum when i was doing mine. it talked about the resistance etc. i'll see if i can find it.
