Cooler cleaning - advice

Evening........after some advice

Ive been offered an oil cooler for my GTR which has come off of a GTR that has suffered bearing failure.....can I get it cleaned anywhere, do you think it is a bad idea to buy it?? :?

I wouldn't-bits of crap could be stuck in the core and loosen over time back into your oil.
If it's a complete kit and a good price you could buy it and use a new Mocal unit as they're pretty cheap.

Like Simon said, I wouldn't, but if you did you could clean it out with thinners then use a hot pressure washer to blast it out then a compressor with an air gun to dry it out.

But.............you could never be 100% positive you got it all out..............

Thats what Im worried about...think Ill leave it, buy a whole new unit 8)

smart move. There are always a number of unused oil coolers on Ebay.

So you could buy the used pipes and sandwich plate (these would be easy to clean) and get a new rad.
