Child car seat fitting

I'm having trouble getting a child car seat to fit in the back of my 'R, due to "buckle crunch".
Has anyone found a solution to this, i.e. shorter stalks?
Need to get this sorted asap, as he's getting too big for the boot!

Havent got a clue about the seatbelt question as i havent got kids, well not that i know about anyway :lol:

my child seats seem to fit fine , i know what problem you are having though. have you tried putting hard foam/cushion under the seat to raise it a little?
