Broken down waiting for aa

While I'm waiting for aa I'm baffled as to what's happend .
Was driving with the avcr off and all was well then put the avcr to high boost went round a couple off bends on and off throttle and pulled well then as I got to about 5krpm heard a loud pop and lossed power and car sputterd with anysought of throttle . Checked intercooler pipes and they all seem ok . The only thing I might have done wrong is iv put the pipe from the avcr solenoid on backwards I've put com to actuator and on to inlet .
Any ideas would be great as I'm fearing the worst . Fault code came back ok

My friend put the pipes the wrong way round last week! still run fine just never boosted properly.
Check the AVCR wires? one might of came off? TPS wire? Fuel pump? Turn your key on and see if you can hear the fuel pump? Could be lots of things?
Good luck ;-)

Aa bloke just gone .reckons it's turbo so I'm waitin for a recovery truck as they sent a van out first .
Gutted only just got it back on the road after fitting new rad and custom front mount and referbed alternator .
Don't know weather to buy another standard turbo or go bigger

I may be in the same situation as you, ill be removing my engine tomorrow and having Bob check my turbo as it has play in the shaft. If it is knackered ill be going for a GT2860 which ive been informed as having similar spool up to the standard but can produce about 50 more horses

I'll be surprised if there isn't a hose off somewhere. That's exactly what mine did then the bov pipe blew off.

Can the 2860 be bolted straight on without a having to have a map .i have avcr and usual 1bar mods ,plus apexi neo .
If i was to run one of these with the avcr off this would be 0.6-0.8 bar so the ecu might be able to run it with standard setting or am i completely wrong.
FAST guy ive had a quick look and cant see any hoses that have come off and im running standard re-circ.
I'll have a proper look tomorrow i hope it is, but turbo wasnt makin the usual whistle when reving .

Problem solved . Was one of the two hoses on the re-circ. The one that comes from the inlet. I'm so chuffed.
Thanks for the info people I nearly bought a turbo last night in a panic buy as I'm going away in few weeks .
But when I heard they can come off the bov I held fire.
That bleeding Aa bloke said it was turbo for definate.
Just goes to show no-one knows these cars more than the people who drive them on this forum.

Do you think I should .
Actually thinking about it, All he did was listen to it with the bonnet up and then straight away said it sounds like the turbo isn't spinning to me I then said somthing like I what about intercooler pipes he said no, as you'd hear a whistle if they had.

yeah complain my m8 broke down when they turned up they could not do owt so we waited 2 more hour for the low loader he then said he couldnt take it as it was to low and we would have to pay 280 quid for another truck and wait 6 hours for it to get there lol

Seriously, you would complain because the AA man wasn't an expert on this vehicle and didn't give a 100% accurate diagnosis?Get a grip.

I am sure if you read your T&C it will say something along the lines of get it checked by a specialist after recovery and any advice they give is in good faith.

Never said I was going to, I asked a question skidmark.
It's not about being an expert on the pulsar more about should he have investigated it more and found the problem after all it was just a vacuum pipe.

Thats all they are there for really. You're paying for a recovery service with a few fancy extras, not accurate diagnostics and repairs or it would cost a shedload more per year.

I know you didn't project, I meant Nathan really.
You have to look at it form the recovery guys PoV too.Not all are trained mechanics and certainly not experts in our cars.Opening the bonnet would be like looking at spaghetti compared to most cars. How would he know what pipe goes where when you struggle to get a Nissan technician to?

When you work with the general public(as I do) you get constant complaints for things that very often aren't your fault(and are often even the complainants own fault).I don't see what would be accomplished by trying to get this guy into trouble.

I take your point and I'm not going to complain anyway as it won't accomplish anything for me . Plus I can't be botherd.
I said it just goes to show about us knowing more as a pat on the back for this forum and the people helped out with a solution ,because without this forum I'd have probaly bought a new turbo last night .
