Body Strengthening

Hi , all i'm wanting to make my R a bit stronger and rigid but without adding to much weight, so i dont really want a full cage so i want to just fabricate some strenghtening beams for certain places. Where would be best? Ive got front and rear strut braces i thought of maybe another bar across where the rear seats were and seam welding the strut turrets, anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks

Rich

I am all so interested in this. Am I right in saying that there is a lower strut brace available?
Whiteline maybe?

i fully seam welded mine. makes a massive difference. Also the whiteline front underbrace is a great improvement.

I'm getting the rear subframe on my M3 injected with structural foam next week. It weighs very little and will hopefully stop the car trying to rip the diff off when drifting. I've considered it on the chassis rails in the past for the GtiR but if it's not broke don't fix it was my attitude. The BMW on the other hand is poorly engineered and will be broke if I don't fix it!

It's costing me £295 at a BMW specialist to do all the rear floor around the subframe. There might be other companies out there who are more competitive or you can buy the stuff yourself. I considered the DIY route but wan't plan to strengthen that many cars

Just another idea
