hi !

what plugs are recommend to run up to 2 bar of boost.

actually i got NGK BKR8EIX heat range 9,
but car has misfires at high boost in high rpm.

i reduced the gap to 0.5 mm and the misfires are gone.

few weeks later the misfires started again.
i checked the plugs and the gap is 0.8 as standard.
so it seems the gap goes back to standard after a while.

are there any plugs with a 0.5 or 0.4 mm gap ?
what het range is recommended for 2 bar.

thanks for any info.

bye.

I bet if you clean any crap away from the posts on the inside of your distributer cap and on the end of the rotor arm (or buy new ones) the misfire will have gone.

hi !

sorry,i mean BKR9EIX .

cap and rotor arm are new.
its seems that the gap is the problem.
so i need plugs with 0.5 or 0.4 gap.

bye.

Still waiting on some shims!
I'm thought the 9's were for upto 1.8bar in most applications...

Denso IK31 are good for over 2bar...

If you need to reduce your gap then you need a better ignition system

hi !

so what would you recommend ?
i already got some uprated leads

as far i as i know you dont need to
change the ignition system to run high boost.

i think that 0.4 or 0.5 plugs should be fine.

so where can i get some more info about ik31 or ik34 ?

thanks

bye.

0.75mm or 0.7mm gap is fine.. You should be able to use IK27's but you can use IK31's..... Check out www.sparkplugs.co.uk

Standard Ignition should be fine.. But the coil could be old and tired...

Uprated leads... I would change them for standard ones myself...

Most of the larger power boys run S45s don't they? (or is it S45I?)

There comes a point when the standard ignition just can't cope with the boost and I think a few people have had problems before 2bar.
