sounds like too much of a price drop just for you to do the travelling. and 5k seems too much in the first place so perhaps he made that up to make it sound like a good deal for you. 350bhp at 1.1bar boost on standard turbo:shock:. any proof of that? a mates made 330bhp on standard turbo at 1.4bar ffs!! hes picking these numbers out of the sky

If you are really looking to get a GTi-R mate I would suggest Andy Chans (Mr.GTiR's car) at least you know it has been looked after & a lot of money spent on it over the years of ownership. (http://www.gtiroc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55818) At least you wont be buying a $hitter like most GTi-Rs out there.

I have seen pics of that car before but I cant remember what it was about to be honest.

He's running a standard turbo and MAF but had it "mapped" to 1.1 Bar? A £30 Dawes device could probably do a better job without any mapping! 350hp? No chance, closer to 300hp. 550cc injectors for 1.1Bar? Forged internals, I was told that when I first got into R ownership and lost a standard piston 3 months later. Even if it is forged , there are enough of us on here who have seen some bad builds by "tuners" that needed to be rebuilt.

You can't argue with the visible add ons so its basically a slightly interesting looking 1Bar R. £1K to £3K depending on condition. It has a side exit exhaust which is drag strip only so you'd need to change it for the street.

Gut instinct still is walkway.

I agree - 1.1 bar on a standard engine with supporting mods would give about 300bhp... maybe it's at 1.1 because that's as high as they could go on a standard ECU before it went well off the top of the map? If you've got a programmable ECU why not make use of it... although power figures don't really tell you as much as people would have you believe.

If he has got 350bhp out of a standard turbo, I wonder how long it will last (or maybe that's why he wants a quick sale)? Having said that, Mr NME_RB got 480bhp from his... and the car did wheelies... what do you mean bullsh!t? Wanna fight about it? :der:

If you have the budget; take a look at Mr GTiR's car (as above) - It's definitely running and not blowing smoke or tapping from the head; I saw it yesterday. I would prefer that you didn't buy it though... I'm hoping that he'll come to his senses, forget about a TME, and keep it.

Andys put a lot of time and money in to his car but as Matthew does not like it( its to noisy for a small child ) it has to go . And you can get 350 from a standard turbo if you take it to the right rolling road /tuner:lol:

I only have £3.5k until i sell the 5 so need that gone realy befor i can look to buy.

dont want a shed so willing to pay the asking on Mr GTiR's car,but only when mine goes, so far only had silly offers so this white one seemed ok,although he doesnt seem to know very much about it,

I wouldn't rush in & buy the car mate, as a lot of people have said the sums dont add up on it. When I bought my R it was making 333bhp at 1.4 bar & on a really strong engine as well. Doesn't help that no one knows anything about this car & even with Jimmy staying in the area & hasn't even seen it.

If you can hold off till you sell your 5 you will have that bit extra cash to spend on a really good one that doesn't need work done to it (Again hint towards Andys  )

Just trying to help mate as I spent a shed load on my R & ended up breaking it & scrapping most of it.

yeah GTiR Mic thats what il probably end up doing, going to try and convince Jimmy to have a look next weekend anyway to check paperwork and car itself, might be a bargain....nut probably not...

Deank,got millions of pics,as for tuners....what tuners??

BB only do service work or modified parts on clio's,GT Tuning went tits up lol
all thats left is K-TEC...and i dont reccomend them, nor do many on the owners club.

TBH most of the parts on mine bar the Cam and Turbo are custom or sourced from other tuners(Thoe,Elite,Baileys,Forge etc)

so basically if you dont know how to fix and modify a 1.4 8v pushrod car yourself....your fooked!lol

I've got no idea how to wire a plug....and thats not an exageration....so i would be screwed.

I'd love to have one tucked up in the garage to tinker with, something with spot on standard looking bodywork, stripped out but well presented interia, cage, plastic windows and around 190bhp.

Glad GT Tuning went belly up, i never had any dealings with them but the seemed like tw@ts.

Any idea what happened to the BBT demo car, i loved that bad boy.
