is there a fix that can be made whilst the engine is out ie from the engine bay side of the bulkhead ... ive had my dash out once already to fit the bluetone dials and although quite easy i am worried about messing up the dials if i open it all back up to address the pedal box ..

Nah, it all needs to be done from under the dash plus you dont need to remove the dash to fix the pedal box mount

thanks for the link ... ive already bought and fitted steves bracket .. but i was too late ... i think its time for the welder , i could just use any info on the best approach ... my clutch still works fine but with a creak at every depress .. i feel its only a matter of time
