Thermostat housing gasket?

It looks like there isn't a gasket available from Nissan for between the thermostat housing and the cover. There was liquid gasket on there when I removed it.
Could somebody confirm that liquid gasket is the tool for the job please? Or is there a part number for the proper gasket?
Also, is there a preferred brand / type of liquid gasket, or will anything do?

Yes mate, boiled over because the thermostat got jammed shut. Got the spare off Nelson, so I will be sorting it during the week. :roll:

You wanna watch it with him, he'll give you something he has left over from his car claiming it works fine and then you find out it's useless... :)

Spot-on matey, you know him too well :doh: The one he gave me was also duff :lol:
