Std. exhaust temperature sensor

Hi,
is the the std. exhaust temperature sensor needed when I have replaced the cat? Or is it necessary for the ECU to make the correct air/fuel ratio?

The temp sensor can be removed. Its not needed, you do however need the lambda sensor.

Maybe a silly question question, but I can I just cut the wire to the sensor ans isolate them?

Can I just cut the wire and isolate the wires or will the ECU notice that and give a fault code?

Most people just seem to unplug them and that seems fine.

But where can I unplug the Sensor? From under the car I can only see the wire that runs into the shell. Or do you mean just cut the wires into two pieces with a knife?

The connector is under the carpet inside the car....... can't remember quite where though.

I couldnt get mine out when I put in a new decat so I just cut the wire off as close to the underside of the floor as poss.

I took mine off last week. Disconnect it from under the drivers seat. I have had no problems since.
