starting car after rebuild

My mechanic has just finished rebuilding my r and he`s having a a bit of a problem starting it for the first time.When u turn the key the dash lights up but it wont fire up theres no sound of the fuel pump working and no spark :?: :?: has anyone came across a similer problem before :?: or did anyone that has had a rebuild have trouble starting it for the first time :?: please help as im desperate to get my car up and running again its been of the road for over a year any help would be appreciated. cheers nis.

Just sounds like an electrical fault... If all the other electrics work like the electric windows etc then its probably one of the below...

Battery, Coil, Rotor, Dizzy...

Ask someone like 'Sirnixalot' or 'Vpulsar'...

check all the fuses and see if the ECU is throwing any codes?

Check the eccs relay as that could kill the fuel and spark together, also the 25A fusible link at the side of the battery.

also check the crank angle sensor i.e the dizzy !
