speedo cutout at 163 mph !?!

any ideas??
i was toeing it back from bluewater last week and it was working perfectly up to 163mph, then stopped working all together.

when i slowed down to about 40mph it jumped back into life :!: :?: :!:

speedo head faulty????

if it's a std box mate, i don't think u will get much more out of it....
