it the seat mounting beam in the front of the car a structural part of the car or can i remove it to lower the driver's seat when i fit muy bucket seat's

He means the peices that run between the sill and the transmission tunnel which the 2 front bolts of the seats go into.

Chop away if you want to bolt seats straight to the floor.

yep thats the bit. i will remove this at the week end.

Make sure you put some plate down on the flor then if bolting directly to it and maybe underneath as if you bolt staright to the floor it could pull the bolts out in a crash.

i'm useing FIA harness eye bolt plates so that shoud do the job.
